Water Lily Pond - Claude Oscar Monet - www.claudemonetgallery.org

Water Lily Pond was painted by Claude Monet with oil on canvas in 1899.  When I think of impressionism this is the most famous painting depicting it that comes to mind.  I have seen this painting in many places such as library, as well as Dr’s offices.  I find the painting to be quite beautiful with the dark green background the light blue and green bridge crossing in the middle ground, and then the water and water lilies in the foreground.  I find it to be very peaceful and pleasant to look at.

Claude Monet was born on November 14, to parents Claude Adolph Monet and Louise Justine Aubree Monet.  He entered the Le Harve secondary school of the arts on April s 1851.  He is known as the founder of French impressionists painting, and the most noted for his paintings of nature.
